about

Man. What a surreal journey it's been creating "Ella" this year. I'm so honored to be able to release this piece of music solely for the fact that it truly represents the sound that I've always dreamed of having. Since January, I've been constantly reproducing it and adding elements to make it more dynamic, and with the enormous help from Kirk Adolph (guitar and background vocals), Devon Bethune (bass and background vocals), Sandro Feliciano (drums), Hannibal Hector (co-production), and Eric Milos (mixing and mastering), "Ella" is the absolute best it can be.

My one vision for my music career is to create an upbeat easy-listening experience as well as open up important conversations with my lyricism. Each song on the upcoming album dives into personal experiences of mine that I really think could reach out and help others. "Ella" specifically tells the story of a fictional female character that struggles with her self-worth. She meets a man who carries nothing but good intentions, which is such a rare concept to her. Because of everything that she's experienced in the past, Ella's absolutely petrified and doesn't know how to let him in to her life. Throughout the three minutes and fifteen seconds of this song, she slowly evolves emotionally and discovers the willpower of learning to love while keeping certain barriers up.

It's inevitable that we, as human beings, are going to be hurt. From experience, I've come to realize that every single day consists of new learning experiences. The past has shaped us to become who we are today.

If you're listening to "Ella", I just want to thank you for taking the time to show your support. It really means the world to me!

lyrics

when she first looked in his eyes,
autumn leaves were falling around them.
a hazel gift not full of lies,
she ran away, teardrops following her.

ella saw this all before.
she let her guard down for every charmer,
and every night her heart was torn.
she wouldn't comprehend why it would occur.

suddenly out of the blue, everything was black and white.
prior worries out of view, from the moment at first sight.
her reflection stared her back, not a friend for her defense.
right before it could attack, she broke the silence.

-

hold on to this new love.
find out what it's made of.
just live and forever learn,
and you'll welcome another turn.

-

ella's father's absent past,
no acceptance traumatized her mind,
and made her think she couldn't last,
but seventeen birthdays were under her belt.
she came across so insecure.
the risk of failure incredibly frequent,
but the boy intentions pure,
he showed composure with how she felt.

suddenly out of the blue, everything was black and white.
prior worries out of view, from the moment at first sight.
her reflection stared her back, not a friend for her defense.
right before it could attack, she broke the silence.

-

hold on to this new love.
find out what it's made of.
just live and forever learn,
and you'll welcome another turn.

hold on to this new love.
find out what it's made of.
just live and forever learn,
and you'll welcome another turn.
